Enterprise Award Winner!
– Jack Woodall, a Year 11 student, has won the Sir John Moores’ Award for personal progress in Enterprise for the North West region. He is the second student from Oulder Hill to achieve this award. Lady Grantchester, the daughter of Sir John Moores, set up the fund in memory of her father to recognise the Special Achievements of Team Programme students. This award is presented on an annual basis in each English region and Wales to the Team Programme student who has made the most progress and shown the most improvement through their participation in the programme. As winner of the award, Jack has received a cheque for £100 and a certificate, which was presented to him at the regional final. Well done Jack!

Rugby Union Update
– The Year 7, 8 and 9 Rugby teams played in an end of season celebration fixture against Siddal Moor last week. In an evenly battled contest, all games finished roughly as a draw as Mr Bardsley was unable to keep score of all games! Stand out performers were Mohammad Qaisar and Lucas Dowd for the Year 7s, Muzamil Bashir and Ethan Pope for the Year 8s and Daniel Madeley and Callum Ruffell for the Year 9s. Jonni Allen and Will Moore not only led a coaching session for the pupils participating but they also refereed the Rugby matches to a fantastic standard. This holds a lot of promise as we aim to create Rugby Sports Leaders in our second year. Well done to the participants: Year 7: Mudassar Bashir, Lucas Dowd, Tommy Coleman, Mohammad Qaisar, Edward Pickard, Isaac Khan, James Warburton, Will Strudwick, Aaron Hill, Dylan Stott, Declan Steeple and Tom Elkin-Walker. Year 8/9: Matthew Greenwood, Liam Hicks, Muzamil Bashir, Eddy Riley, Joe Moore, Mohammad Faisal, Callum Ruffell, Sameer Haroon, Dayne Stewart, Zaki Bowden, Daniel Madeley, Emmerson Bradshaw, Connor Marland-Lord, Saif Zulfiqar, Jordan Parkhill and Ethan Pope. Thank you to everyone that has supported the ‘All Schools’ project. As a result of the support and hard work, we have been rated by the RFU in the top 10% of ‘All Schools’ in the country. Thanks to Mr Bardsley, Mr Jackson and Mr Noon for his assistance on the evening and Ms Ward and Ms Newell for their support.
