This Week’s Theme:

– Be Safe

World War One Workshop

– Year 8 students have the opportunity to take part in a Jason King World War One Workshop at school on Friday 27th January. The workshop is open to 150 students on a first come, first served basis with a voluntary contribution of £3.00. During the workshop, students will have the rare opportunity to handle artefacts from the battlefields of World War One during the interactive session.

Year 11 English

– Q by Q revision booklets for GCSE Language exam papers are now uploaded to the school’s VLE for students to download as preparation for their Pre Public Exams in March and as revision for their actual GCSE exams in June.

Under 14 Girls’ Football

– Well done to the Under 14 Girls’ Football team who played their final football matches last week at Matthew Moss High School, finishing fourth overall in Rochdale! Congratulations to: Eve Thornsby, Rachael Goulding, Jessica Hughes, Anne-Blue White, Drew Hurst and Maisy Phillips.

Year 8 Boys’ Football

– The Year 8 Boys’ Football team were unfortunate to be knocked out on penalties in the quarter final of the Rochdale Schools 6 a side Cup Competition. Oulder Hill were drawn in a tough group with St Cuthbert’s and Middleton Technology. OH drew 1-1 with St Cuthbert’s with Ethan Brierley scoring a fantastic solo goal and then beat Middleton Technology 2-0 with Ethan Brierley and Alex Johnson scoring the goals. As a result, OH progressed to the quarter finals where they faced Holy Family. OH dominated the game but the game ran its course and finished a draw (0-0). The game then progressed to penalties with OH sadly losing the shootout. The team were very unlucky and probably deserved to qualify for the semi-finals. Well done to the following boys on their excellent commitment and effort: Jake Gretton, Spencer Allen, Alex Johnson, Harris Khan, Ethan Brierley, Ethan Kwei-Sutcliffe and Hayden Bell.
