School News – Week Commencing 30th September 2019
Open Evening
A huge thank you to everyone who attended our Open Evening. It was a fantastic evening and the atmosphere around school was electric. We were delighted with the outstanding feedback we received and thank all visitors for their kind comments. We would also like to thank our brilliant staff and students for all their hard work and positivity both in the run up to and throughout the evening. We look forward to welcoming many of the Year 6 students into our school community next September.
Year 9 Football
The year 9 Football team started the season off in style with an 11-1 win over St Annes Academy. All students were fantastic and played really well as a team. The stand out performer was Thomas Taylor. Lead the back line with authority and scored a 25 yard screamer.

Year 7 Football
The Year 7 Football team won their first game of the season 4-2 against Matthew Moss. Oulder Hill dominated the first half but were unable to break the deadlock as the Matthew Moss goal keeper pulled off a string of fine saves from Devon Bradburn, Louis McGhee and Will Hodgson. In the second half, Oulder Hill scored early on as Adam Sanderson played a delightful flick through to Max Moore who smashed the ball past the on rushing goal keeper. Oulder Hill then made it 2-0 as Mason Hines unleashed a fierce drive which finished in the top corner. Adam Sanderson then made the score 3-0 with a penalty after a Matthew Moss handball. Oulder Hill then nearly snatched defeat from the jaws of victory as they conceded two sloppy goals to make the score 3-2. However, control was restored as Devon Bradburn scored with the last kick of the game. All of the students were fantastic. The stand out performer was Louis McGhee who controlled the game so effectively in midfield.

Rochdale Schools Cross Country
Our Year 7-9 team ran in the Rochdale Schools Cross Country at Falinge Park High School. The effort of all students was amazing and they dug deep and showed real resilience as the end of the race drew near. The highlight of the day was watching Jamie-Leigh Dermody and Esme Mills battling for first and second place in an exciting finish!
