School News – Week Commencing 15th October 2018

Year 10/11 Rugby

Our Year 10/11 Rugby team won their third game of the Lancashire Rose Shield against St Monica’s High School with a school record score. With several of the year 11’s being filmed for their GCSE PE practical the team stepped up the plate.

St Monica’s turned up with only 12 so Harris Bowden, Jake Idiens and Liam Brigham sportingly volunteered to go onto the St Monica’s team to make it 15 vs 15.

From the kick off OH were the more aggressive and faster than their opponents and by half time they were 20-0 ahead thanks to tries from Mohammed Qaiser, Julian Dimber, Mudaseer Bashir and Maxx Wright. The second half started the same way with Maxx getting his 2nd try of the game practically from kick off, there were 5 more tries for OH with a 2nd for Julian, James Warburton, 2 for Mason Shortall and the game was complete with Maxx completing his hat trick.

The result should put OH in the final of the shield, all the boys played well and were a credit to the school

Well done to all involved, especially the 3 lads that played for the other team:
